The US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) mission is  ” to fulfill President Lincoln’s promise to care for those who have served in our nation’s military and for their families, caregivers, and survivors”.

The VA does this by administering a number of programs including veterans’ disability benefits, The GI Bill and other educational opportunities, veterans cemeteries, and the Veterans Health Administration which includes which operates 1298 healthcare facilities nationwide.
