A Note from the Board Chair

My gratitude for all the hardworking team members and support staff at LIFTT is matched only by my respect for their dedication to the performance of the often complicated job of providing services to our aging consumers and clients with disabilities.  Our mission now requires diligence in data management and attention to detail unsurpassed to this point. Nevertheless, our vision expands the horizon. With one eye on data and the other on fundraising, I watch our team members moving diligently into the future. I see them continually working to provide quality services regardless of circumstance.

Fueled by the growing need in the counties we serve, this work will increase over time, and I trust LIFTT will grow as well.  I have seen LIFTT expand from a shoebox office in the early 1990s to the complex and far-reaching organization that it is today.  Numerous legions of LIFTT personnel have come and gone, but the formula of an empathetic team working from a structure of sound, compassionate programs repeatedly succeeds.  Continuing to assist and empower our communities’ most vulnerable demographic, LIFTT’s team members increasingly respond to more people with disabilities, aging individuals, and those marginalized by social barriers as the years click on.

Our mission of empowerment through support and inclusion will continue to prevail.  We are now in a challenging phase of transitional growth with the additional development of the RideWell transportation program. Commitments to sound service policies as well as a practical fiscal policy are balanced in LIFTT’s bylaws and are reflected in current program operations.  As we move forward, I see a new opportunity to help people who have not yet discovered the generous service LIFTT offers.

Thank you.
Garrett Mills
