Transportation
Figuring out how to best get from place to place and utilizing accessible public and private transportation can be a little daunting. LIFTT can help you determine your best options, help you learn the system, and work with you step by step until you are comfortable riding the systems available. Below is some basic information and links about transportation in our service area.

Local Public Transportation Authorities
City of Billings Met Transit
Operated by the city of Billings, MET Transit currently has 25 vehicles operating on 17 fixed routes all throughout the city of Billings. Click here to view current MET schedules and routes.
All of MET’s buses are accessible by citizens who use wheelchairs and other mobility devices. They are wheelchair lift-equipped and accessible to all citizens who are unable to use the stairs.

MET Plus
MET Plus is the ADA para-transit program for citizens who are unable to use the fixed-route MET bus service due to a disability. Specially equipped vehicles provide curb-to-curb service for persons certified as eligible. Baker – Fallon County Council on Aging Transportation
Although small, Fallon County Council on Aging’s Transportation System is available to all residents of Fallon County—whether they are young, old, or disabled.
Hours of Operation
- Local Service: 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday – Saturday
- Out-of-town Service: Hours change to meet demand (Normally 8:00am – 6:00pm)

- On Demand within Baker City Limits
- Occasional service to and from Plevna when requested
- Out-of-town to Miles City – 1st Wednesday of each month
- Out-of-town to Dickinson, ND – 3rd Wednesday of each month
- Medical Appointments up to 225 miles from Baker – upon request

PRCPT makes trips to Miles City, Billings, Gillette WY, Ft. Meade, Spearfish, Belle Fourche, and Rapid City SD. We schedule the trip as soon as someone calls in for an appointment, then PRCPT advertises it in the local paper, on our local TV station, and on our website. PRCPT encourages its passengers to call as soon as they know they need an appointment so PRCPT can coordinate our trips with other passengers. Everyone is welcome to ride.

Forsyth – Rosebud County Health Care Center Transportation
Rosebud Health Care Center’s Transportation Department provides a rural demand response service available to the public to assist with their transportation needs. RHCC Transportation asks for a 24-to-48-hour advance notice when scheduling our services.
Hours of Operation/Schedule
- In-town (Forsyth): Monday–Friday. Appointments should be scheduled between 8 a.m. and. 4 p.m.
- Billings: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. Appointments should be scheduled between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- Miles City: Tuesdays & Thursdays. Appointments should be scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Glendive – Dawson County Transit
Dawson County Transit is a public transit service which serves the Glendive area providing rides to individuals needing access for social events, shopping, work, medical appointments, schools and most places they need to be during the day.
Hours of Operation/Schedule
- Rides to destinations in the Glendive area are available from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Ekalaka – Carter Charter
Bus remains in town Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays due to Congregate Mealtimes for seniors. Bus is scheduled to travel to Baker every 1st and 3rd Wednesday and to Miles City every 2nd and 4th Wednesday. Medical appointment rides available to Billings, Baker, Glendive, Miles City, Rapid City SD, Spearfish SD, Sturgis SD and Dickenson ND.

Jordan – Garfield County Senior Center/Transit
Garfield County Senior Center/Transit provides a rural demand response service available to the public to assist with their transportation needs.
Hours of Operation/Schedule
- Please book at least 24 hours in advance.
- Rides in Jordan Monday through Friday 8-5.
- Medical Trips to Billings or Miles City when scheduled.

Laurel − Laurel Public Transportation
Laurel Public Transportation provides a demand response service available to the public to assist with their transportation needs both within the city of Laurel and to & from Billings.
Hours of Operation/Schedule
Service available for any type of trip during regularly scheduled hours.
Within Laurel
- Mondays – Fridays | 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
To/From Billings
- 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month
- 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Make your reservation at least one business day in advance.**

Miles City – Custer County Transit
Custer County Transit provides non-emergency public transportation through an on demand, next day scheduled reservation (i.e. need a ride on Tuesday you have to call and reserve on Monday), within the city limits (2 mile bubble) of Miles City as well as limited service to Billings.
Hours of Operation/Schedule
- Miles City: (must schedule 24 hours in advance) Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Billings: Trips on scheduled days each month. Click for dates in 2022.

Red Lodge – Carbon Area Ride & Transit (CART)
The Carbon Area Ride and Transit service provides a safe, reliable, and affordable means of transportation, for residents in Red Lodge, Roberts, Joliet, Bridger, Belfry, and Fromberg, as well as residents living within a three-mile radius of Highways 212 and 310.
Hours of Operation/Schedule
- Please schedule rides at least 24 hours in advance.
- Rides within Carbon County: Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Rides to Billings, Wednesdays & Thursdays, By Appointment.

Sidney – Richland County Transportation Service
Richland County Transportation Service strives to provide Richland County residents with reliable transportation to meet their medical, nutritional, social and economic needs to help improve their quality of life.
Hours of Operation/Schedule
- Please schedule by 4 p.m. on the previous business day before your trip.
- Sidney, Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Savage (to Sidney), Tuesdays Pickup Time 10 a.m. Return time 2 p.m.
- Fairview (to Sidney), Thursdays Pickup Time 10:30 a.m. Return Time 2 p.m.
